 Founded in August 2010 by Keira Chatman, bklynQueens grew out of a love affair with vintage clothing, retail industries, an appreciation for all things style and design-oriented, and a healthy dose of dreaming. bklynQueens is an online vintage boutique that offers a creative and engaging shopping environment, an interactive atmosphere, and a finely curated assortment of pieces. The concept is focused on city life with a twist of whimsy and nostalgia: street style meets fairytale. Recognizing that all new trends take root from their predecessors, the boutique was created for the person who wants runway inspired pieces at affordable prices. Each piece is one of a kind and hand selected by yours truly. Operating out of downtown Brooklyn, bklynQueens also offers personal shopping and styling appointments for those who are in the area and would prefer to visit the studio.   Since conception, Keira has been trolling vintage and thrift shops near and far with her mother. Like most children she loathed second hand shops; however she grew to love them by high school and obsessed over her next vintage haul. Where would she go? What would she find? The excitement demanded action. Upon graduating from The University of Akron with a B.A in Fashion Merchandising and Theatre Arts, Keira packed up her sewing machine and set out for Brooklyn, NY. While working for several great companies like Chanel, Just Cavalli and Rock & Republic, Keira longed for a more creative outlet. She realized that her one true love was scouting the best vintage threads in town, thus, bklynQueens was founded. Now the Owner finds herself managing, buying, styling, and stepping behind the lens to give you her version of Brooklyn meets vintage. Keira's great taste, passion and ability to spot a diamond in the rough provides for a collection that is curated to perfection. She thanks her mother for introducing her to the love of her life. |
